Enrichment

Art Adventure

Art Adventure is a program for schools offered through the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA). Art Adventure sparks curiosity and conversation around selected artwork at the MIA. The program engages students with artworks from curated collections presented by parent volunteers and allows students to experience artworks up close and personal through reproductions, technology, and touch-and-feel props. This has been a hugely popular program with both kids and volunteers.

Wildwood

For three weeks in January, “Picture People” parent volunteers present these artworks in first and second grade classrooms paired with a small art project. First graders also attend a field trip at MIA to see the artwork in person. The Wildwood set for 2023/24 is Amazing Animals in Art.

We will be needing one Picture Person and one parent assistant per classroom. Volunteers must have the required background check completed. Volunteer registration has closed for 2023/24, but if you’re interested in getting involved next year, please contact artadventure@mahtomedipto.com.

OHA

At O.H. Anderson, students may participate in an afterschool club to explore the sets Let’s Celebrate Life and Family, Friends, and Communities.
